TIME SPENT IN THE OPEN AIR: A PRECIOUS GIFT

Time spent in the open air: a precious gift
Time spent in the open air: a precious gift
In order to enjoy a moment of well-being every day and lead a healthy lifestyle, it is necessary, in addition to a good diet, to carve out time to spend outdoors in close contact with nature. Breathing in some clean air is indeed a panacea for body and mind, regardless of the activity we choose to do (to carry on).

What are the benefits of a breath of fresh air, of a walk in nature, even if it’s just in the green behind our house?

1. It reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels: being outdoors helps us put our attention to the daily inputs we are subjected to on standby.

2. It improves mood and increases concentration, thus giving a positive boost to our psychological and emotional health.

3. It strengthens the immune system by increasing vitamin D production through exposure to the sun. It therefore reduces tiredness and the risk of getting sick and improves sleep quality. In addition, doing physical activity outdoors oxygenates the tissues, revives the metabolism and regularises breathing.

At the same time, it frees the mind, improves creativity and allows us to recharge our batteries. Physical and psychological well-being are closely linked: the one positively influences the other and vice versa.

So, for some, taking a breath of fresh air at the end of the day becomes an urgent necessity. When summer is near and the days are getting longer, there are more opportunities for outdoor activities. Having a green space close to home is a blessing we must cherish; making being outdoors a habit is a precious gift we can give ourselves.
